ArrowStream economist, David Maloni, noted in this week’s Maloni Report that the U.S. November beef imports were better than expected, up 10.6 percent from prior year.
“Frozen boneless beef (mostly lean beef trim) imports were 2.8 percent bigger than 2018 with Australian trade higher by 2.3 percent and New Zealand trade down almost 50 percent,” said Maloni. “The average import price for boneless beef continued to rise but, as the chart shows, not as intensely as the price for imported 90 percent beef trim in the U.S.”
What to Expect?
Maloni and ArrowStreams’s commodity experts expect volatility in these markets to continue.
